Still Ill x Amazon Music

My first documentary project for Amazon Music started as a humble task - film a chat with Amazon Music’s Head of Editorial Nathan Bracket alongside Mike D and Ad-Rock of Beastie Boys. We had been pitching Amazon Music on the idea of doing a series of mini-documentaries to drive streams of catalog music. This was our chance to show proof of concept. After filming the hour-long discussion, we returned to the lab and gathered archival footage, interviews and b-roll from the legendary G-Son studios. Alongside our assignment (film the discussion), we delivered ‘Still Ill’ a 15 minute mini-documentary made with no additional funds. It was a risk but fortunately, they loved it, as did Beastie Boys management. The mini-doc kickstarted our relationship with Amazon Music and won a Clio and Webby in the process. Probably the piece my 14-year-old self is most proud of.
